CHENNAI: A Central Industrial Security Force jawan on Thursday found a businessman's lost demand draft of Rs 70 lakh but declined to accept any reward from the person at the airport saying it was his duty.

According to airport sources, Coimbatore-based industrialist Balasubramaniam had come to the airport to board a Coimbatore-bound Jet Airways flight.

While showing his ticket to the CISF jawan L Venu, who was on duty at the entrance, the businessman unwittingly dropped the DD for Rs 70 lakh and went away.

Later, Venu spotted the DD and alerted his higher-ups. Soon, an announcement was made on the public announcement system and Balasubramaniam, proving his credentials, reclaimed the demand draft.

When he wanted to reward Venu for his gesture, the CISF jawan politely turned down the offer, saying he only did his duty.
